RIDGWAY is the northern entrance of the scenic San Juan Skyway, which serves as a crossroad for commerce, transportation, history and scenery. The Skyway, one of the All-American Roads in the U.S., winds through unmatched scenery — a photographer’s dream.  Nestled in the picturesque Uncompahgre Valley and surrounded by majestic snow-capped peaks of the Cimarron and San Juan Mountains, Ridgway is the “Gateway to the San Juans.” This “gateway” position was recognized over 100 years ago when the Rio Grande Southern established Ridgway as a railhead center servicing the nearby mining towns of Ouray and Telluride. Acres of State Park includes hiking, camping and a 5-mile long reservoir. Relax and picnic under the shade of 100-year-old cottonwoods in Ridgway Town Park, one of the prettiest anywhere. Ridgway’s park and surroundings were locations for the movies “True Grit”, and “How the West Was Won”. This park also hosts year round festivities. Hot air balloon rides bring you high into the mountain ranges for the most spectacular views!

OURAY has been a special destination of world travelers for more than 100 years. This small intimate community is nestled in some of the most rugged and towering peaks of the Rockies. Set at the narrow head of a valley and surrounded on three sides with 13,000 feet snowcapped peaks - Ouray has been eloquently nicknamed the "Switzerland of America." A small mountain town yet an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. There isn’t any form of outdoor sport that can’t be found all year long. Biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, jeep tours, mine tours, hot springs photography, wild life viewing, scenic drives, ice climbing, ice skating, cross country skiing and snow mobiling.

TELLURIDE is mostly known for the Telluride Ski Resort. 1700 acres of skiable terrain almost equally divided between beginner, intermediate and expert runs. Down hill trails, snowboard terrain and cross country tracks offer diverse crowd of skiers & riders a wealth of adventures. Summer activities with Premier Festivals drawing thousands of visitors each year. The lifts continue to run, giving hikers & biker’s access to dozens of winding trails full of views, wildflowers and streams. Also hosting a beautiful Mountain Golf Club.

MONTROSE is situated on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains and home to the Black Canyon National Park and offers scenic mountains, valleys, canyons, mesas, lakes and rivers, plus all the recreational activities that accompany these natural wonders like hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, camping, boating and more. Montrose lies at an elevation of 5,794 feet above sea level, has mild summers and winters with minimal snow accumulation in the city, making a great four season playground. The areas largest ‘small town’, yet enough growth for the areas employment and recreation.
